DR VANESSA STITT

I graduated with an honours medical degree in 2010 from NUI Galway. I then completed four years of General Practice Training, also in Galway. I have a special interest in family planning and women’s and  children’s health.

I developed an interest in tongue-tie after my own son was diagnosed with a tongue-tie and i was having difficulty breastfeeding. He underwent a frenotomy procedure and there was a marked improvement in his latch when breastfeeding. We happily breastfed for another 8 months.

My qualifications: MB Bch BAO MICGP, Diploma in Child Health, R.C.P.C.H., Certificate in Contraception, Advanced Certificate in LARC, ICGP LARC Tutor, Professional Certificate in Breastfeeding and Lactation, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. i completed the Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad:
A Master Class for the IBCLC in 2024. I am a member of IATP (International Affiliation 
of Tongue Tie Professionals), ICAP (International Consortium of Oral Ankylofrenula Professionals), and ALCI (Association of Lactation Consultants Ireland).
